The Smoke That Thunders
Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is the largest waterfall in the world, over a mile wide (1.7km) and 360 feet high (108m). On the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, it is one of the most breath-taking and spectacular sights in Africa. Every minute millions of litres of raging white water of the Zambezi River pours over the edge and plummets into the deep gorge below.
2013 is the Livingstone bicentennial. Throughout Africa, and in many other parts of the world, special events have been arranged to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Missionary Pioneer, David Livingstone. The Livingstone 200 Missions Conference will be at the most awe-inspiring sight in Africa, at one of the most significant Missionary anniversaries likely to take place in our lifetime.
A Unique Missions Event
To celebrate the anniversary of Dr. David Livingstone sighting, mapping and naming Victoria Falls, 16 November 1855, Frontline Fellowship is organising a Livingstone 200 Missions Conference on the banks of the Zambezi River in the town of Livingstone, in Zambia, Central Africa. The Livingstone 200 Missions Conference will be unique. It will include inspiring presentations, guided tours of the Livingstone Museum and Victoria Falls, a commemorative service at Victoria Falls, 16 November, outreaches and celebration services.
To stand before the thundering, panoramic view of a massive wall of water amidst the smoke that thunders, in the midst of a splendid nature reserve, is an awe-inspiring, never to be forgotten experience. In the course of my Missionary work, over the last 30 years, I have frequently had the privilege of visiting Victoria Falls and it always greatly impresses and inspires me.
The Best Friend Africa Ever Had
The Livingstone 200 Missions Conference (13 - 18 November 2013) will be the most historically significant time at the most visually spectacular venue, to celebrate the life and legacy of the best friend Africa ever had: Dr. David Livingstone.
An Opportunity of a Lifetime
If you have always wanted to visit Victoria Falls, this would be a unique opportunity to enjoy a tremendous location, on the banks of one of the greatest rivers in Africa, in the very heart of Africa. The Livingstone 200 Missions Conference theme is: Africa for Christ! Transforming nations by changing lives.
For those ministers, missionaries and Evangelists who want to join in this Missions Conference, there will be numerous preaching opportunities in local churches of Livingstone on Sunday, 17 November. Those who want to stay on in Africa, after the Conference, and want to visit the nearby Game Reserves, or join in on Missionary outreaches in the area, will have the opportunity to add on excursions.
Africa Overland Mission
Several Frontline Fellowship Mission teams will coincide for the Livingstone 200 Missions Conference, including our Africa Overland Mission team, who have already driven over 29,000 km, ministering in 12 countries, over 7 months.
On the Banks of the Zambezi River
For those who want to enjoy five-star hotel accommodation, our travel agent can make arrangements with the Royal Livingstone Hotel. For those who would like a camping experience on the Zambezi River we have identified a River Lodge where one can choose between staying in a chalet, or a tent, right on the Zambezi River. Flights, accommodation and transport to Livingstone needs to be arranged by the individual. Frontline Fellowship will be organising the Livingstone 200 Missions Conference. The Programme can be viewed here.
May God continue to be your joy and strength.
Yours for the fulfilment of the Great Commission
